New AOK family study proves: Children move far too little
For a third, exercise is irrelevant
Playground, cycling, just romping around a bit – what children really love to do is neglected in many German families. This is the result of a family study by the AOK. A third of those surveyed even stated that exercise in their free time played no role at all for them.
72 percent of fathers are overweight
Only 45 percent of parents in Germany exercise together with their children. The results of the family study published by the AOK in early July 2018 prove that this is far too little. Accordingly, 36 percent of parents are overweight, 22 percent obese. As many as 72 percent of fathers belong to one of the two categories.
The reason for this is not enough time: 40 percent of the parents surveyed stated that time stress was the greatest stress factor. Only 28 percent manage to do sports and fitness at all. The problem: If parents don't move enough, their children usually suffer as well.
